Oil Rig Rumble 2023: Thank you for an epic and impactful year

The annual Movember Oil Rig Rumble united Canada’s oil, gas, and energy industry for a month of digging deep for Canada’s most valuable resource, the moustache. This year's crew of over 100 teams and 1200 individuals raised over $1.06 million for men’s health. These funds will have a great impact on groundbreaking men’s health projects across mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Congratulations to SECURE Energy on defending their title and for continuing to lead by example! SECURE was one of four teams that had the chance to celebrate a successful campaign with an on-ice experience at Rogers Place Arena, home of the Edmonton Oilers.

The top fundraising companies from the 2023 Oil Rig Rumble were:

• SECURE Energy - $236,363
• Pembina Pipeline - $50,311
• Teine Energy - $46,220
• ARC Resources - $45,938
• Co-op Refinery Complex- $43,638

With over 75% of the industry being male, the connection to Movember is a “no brainer” for many of our fundraisers. The men’s health education and purposeful conservations had during the hairy month will have an impact within participating workplaces and will contribute to men in the industry living healthier, happier, and longer lives.

Greg Filipchuk, VP of Operations at SECURE Energy said, “Over the years, mental health has been more and more important as we need to focus and ensure men, and women, all take care of themselves.”

Greg once again spearheaded the coordination of SECURE’s Oil Rig Rumble winning campaign. “At SECURE, we are promoting Movember to reinforce awareness to our employees of the importance of mental wellness and the support we have in place for them,” said Filipchuk.

The strides made, funds raised, and lives changed would not be possible without the incredible efforts from the oil, gas and energy sector. You have all contributed to something big, made a huge impact, and should be proud of what you have achieved.
